hello
I am new to the world of blogging and this is my first posting (in case you couldn't duh-head that out from the title). I feel all girlish and giggly. Sorry duh-head is an insult of my own creation along with bo-head (actually my brother leon created that one); It's kind of a habit/hobbie. Leon should get a giggle out of our blog title.
A bit about us. Me, Eva, I'm 1/4 nurse, 1/4 mom, and half asleep most of the time since I work night shifts a couple times a week and I have trouble adjusting. I enjoy swing dancing, rock climbing, and engaging in vicious thigh pinching fights to the death over trivial matters (by to the death I mean lying in a ball on the floor with arms wrapped around legs for protection). I am the most disorganized clean freak in the world. I will freak out about a drop of juice spilled on the floor yet my living room is a mass of random piles of paper that my daughter throws around the room several times per day. I love my kids, I eat candy first thing in the morning (even though michael tries to hide it from me), and I rarely finish anything I start. Thats me in a small untidy little package.
Next is Michael. He's my prince charming minus the shiny armor. And minus the castle. And piles of gold. He doesn't have a horse either. Ok he's just a guy with a second hand motorcycle that I bought him last christmas. But he is really hot. He is mercifully about 1 month away from finishing helicopter school which is pretty hot too. He works at Albertson's right now (he even makes that look hot). He's almost as goofy as me but that might have happened after we got married. He served an lds mission in Bolivia where he contracted a case of diarrhea that I don't think he ever really got rid of (don't tell him I said that) and did many other meaningful things. He spends about 4 hours a day at school about 6-8 hours a day at work, about 4 hours a day studying, about 1 hour in commute and somewhere in there he eats showers and sleeps. Occasionally we get some time to cuddle but he usually ends up asleep on my arm after about 5 minutes. Hopefully things will get better eventually. Right now the end meeting priorities take up alot more time than we would like. In some of our rare personal time together he challenges me to a game of chess which usually ends in him receiving abot an hour of silent treatment because I have never managed to beat him and I am a very sore loser.
Jaedon is six and in kindergarten. He's kind of an oblivious loner meaning he spends most of his time alone at school and doesn't seem to mind. At home he talks and moves a mile a minute. He is improving in his reading, he can get through a page of most children's books before he needs a break. He can ride a bike with training wheels and copius amounts of padding. Just lost his first tooth last christmas eve. He loves corn dogs, transformers and old he-man movies. That's right the bare chested, furry underwear, shoulder length hair he-man movies. (sigh) Maybe it will pass. He's sweet and is willing to share candy more than any other 6 year old I know.
Naulie is 10 months old. She just started walking 2 weeks ago but she still has no teeth and very little hair. She is sooooooooooo beautiful (which is her current nickname). She is very fast and likes to put just about anything in her mouth. In fact just about any given object in a room that is bite-size or smaller can be found there within about 5 minutes of her arriving. No actual words yet but she does crawl around saying ma-ma-ma-ma or da-da-da-da alot. But she doesn't direct it at anyone. Her current purpose in life is her perpetual crusade to free p.o.w. diapers from the diaper champ by soiling at least 6-8 diapers per day to add to the trapped diapers until they are able to over throw the capacity of the diaper champ and gain their freedom. I frequently catch her holding onto the handle and yelling encouragement down into the hole where the diapers disappear. She also watches closely every time we empty the thing to ensure that no dipes are left behind. Ok I spend way to much time alone with no company but Naulie and I make up stories that explain everything she does to entertain my self. Michael thinks I'm funny.
Well, thats enough for a first blog I think. I'll try to consolidate better next time.
